All In The Past album reviews

‘Really good songs, properly played and sung – no unnecessary packaging or over production...
If this was food it would be sort of organic, free range, straight from a good road side farm shop !’' - Nick Mason (Drummer with Pink Floyd)
'A Real Gem' - Sounds Around Town
'They could easily appeal to a lot of people' - americanaUK. Read full review Here.
'A clash of European folk and rootsy americana, the result being a wonderful mid-atlantic blend.
The defining factor seems to be simple - the ability to inject their music with a poppy accessibiliy and the sheer quality of the songwriting.
All In The Past is varied enough to remain interesting and familiar enough to provide mass appeal'
- Green Man Music. Read full review Here.
'...with it's feelgood, sunshiney sound... the boys have a gift of capturing the spirit of a story
and translating it through their music'- Flicky Harrison, Swindon Advertiser. Read full review Here.
'Bateleurs have produced a fine album that combines folk music, country and alternative rock.
It combines strong songwriting with roots instrumentation and vocal harmonies' - ReviewYou
'A gorgeous little track' (Ghosts) - BBC Introducing
'Hello Girl seems to have all the makings of a very epic ballad for Bateleurs. The vocals compliments the bright sound of the guitar.
Overall, a great track' - Screamlite Records
'Up-beat and accessible folk-rock, weaving vocal harmonies and instruments with the solid
rhythms of bass and drums' - Ells Ponting (4014 Project)
'Have listened to much music on telly, radio and roundabout but have to say that my favourite
tune this year is The Bateleur's 'Hello Girl' - well done guys' - Jenny Gleeson (Grubby Jack)
'Great track(Ghosts), but with more of an Americana swing to it rather than nodding towards UK Traditional music. Lovely vocals and musicianship though.' - UK Folk Music
New Day Rising EP reviews

'If Dylan had not been born alongside Highway 61 but had embraced the A1 in the same mythical fashion, this might have been the result.
Joyous, upbeat and very infectious….not a bad combination'. - Green Man Music
'Brilliant acoustic driven, totally accessible, folk tinged, melodic musical creations.'
-
Dave Franklin, Swindon Advertiser
'This 3 track EP has a jaunty college rock feel with a big acoustic guitar strumming through.
It's bright and listenable enough especially the track 'New Day Rising' with it's crashing tambourines and heartfelt vocals...'
- Wiltshire Ocelot
Misc.
Bateleurs are a folk-pop band, who appeared as a duo on this occasion. I’ve seen them before,
both as a pair and with the full band set-up and have never failed to be uplifted by their highly infectious, melodious tunes. Their Somerfest performance was no exception – I really like their use of vocal harmonies and upbeat rhythms. Nice.' Live Somerfest Review - by Ellie Ponting, 4014 Project
'Definitely one of the best bands we've had on the show to date!'
- Swindon 105.5 FM
'The Bateleurs are a VERY good band and if you haven’t seen or heard them then shame
on you' - Ellis Imagery
'Fantastic!' - Signal Radio
'Rather Good!' - Folkcast |
